Fresh from a sold-out run at the Edinburgh Festival, Club NVRLND lands at The Vaults Waterloo for a strictly limited season. Written by Olivier Award-winner Jack Holden (Cruise, KENREX), with concept and direction by Steven Kunis (Hir, Straight White Men), this nightclub musical event is an irreverent, high-energy, immersive party where fairy dust is in the air, the drinks flow, and the night is always young.

CREATIVE TEAM

Steven Kunis (Director & Conceiver) is an American director based in London. He is the conceiver and director of Club NVRLND. In 2024, Steven was nominated for Best Director of a Play at the Off West End Theatre Awards for the critically acclaimed revival of Taylor Mac’s play Hir (Park Theatre 200) starring Emmy and Golden Globe-winner Felicity Huffman. He was previously nominated in the same category in 2021 for the UK Premiere of Young Jean Lee’s Straight White Men (Southwark Playhouse), which received rave reviews across the national press and was named by The Independent as one of the UK’s top ten theatre events of the year.

Ashley Nottingham (Choreographer) is choreographing My Fair Lady this winter at the Pitlochry Festival Theatre directed by Maria Friedman and starring Alan Cumming. Ashley recently choreographed the revival of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Starlight Express, at The Troubadour Wembley Park Theatre, London and is soon to embark on a World Tour. He received great critical acclaim for his choreography in Pacific Overtures by Stephen Sondheim and John Weidman, co-produced by The Menier Chocolate Factory and Umeda Arts Theater in both London and Japan (Tokyo/Osaka performed in Japanese). Ashley provided the choreography for the forthcoming Scorpions Biopic Warner Bros movie Wind of Change.

Jack Holden (Book) is an Olivier Award-winning writer and actor. He trained at Bristol Old Vic Theatre School and has taken part in the Royal Court Young Writers Programme and the Channel 4 Screenwriting Course. He has been on attachment at the National Theatre Studio and was selected to be on the Brit List 2025. His debut play Cruise premiered at the Duchess Theatre in Summer 2021 to widespread critical acclaim, and was nominated for the Olivier Award for Best New Play 2022. It returned for a second sold-out run at the Apollo Theatre, and has since been performed in South Africa, Australia, Mexico and Brazil.

Hugo Dunn-Vereker (Executive Music Producer & Arranger) has spent four decades helping exceptional artists, composers and creative teams realise ambitious work across recorded music, film, television, live performance and stage. His career spans artist management, A&R, production, writing and creative development, with a particular focus on identifying distinctive talent, nurturing long-term artistic partnerships and shaping music-led projects from early vision through to public release. He has worked in key creative and executive capacities with internationally recognised artists and composers including Craig Armstrong, Michael Brook, Rolfe Kent, Gabriel Mann, eastmountainsouth / Peter Bradley Adams, Sonos, Glen Phillips / Toad the Wet Sprocket, Wrenne, Blue Gas and Tantra.

Suzu Sakai (Set & Costume Designer) Suzu Sakai is a NYC based scenic & production designer originally from Tokyo. Working in NY, London, Tokyo, and in other large cities, she has a passion for all aspects of artistic development and collaboration, as well as storytelling through new mediums in digital art & media. Excited to be a part of the NVRLND team again! Robbie Butler (Lighting Designer) is an Olivier Award nominated lighting designer, won the inaugural Profile Award for Outstanding Achievement in Opera, an Off West End Award for Best Lighting Design, and was also the winner of the 2015 ETC Award. He is also one of only a handful of Life Members of the Association for Lighting Production and Design and a graduate of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. Credits include: The Shining (Malmö Opera); The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui (Royal Shakespeare Company, Stratford); Punch (Broadway/West End/Young Vic/UK Tour/Nottingham Playhouse); Reverberation, How to Win Against History (Bristol Old Vic); Death in Venice (Welsh National Opera); and The Makropulos Affair (Scottish Opera). He has further worked with The National Theatre of Scotland, Greek National Opera; Polish National Opera; Den Norske Opera and Ballet; and The English Theatre, Frankfurt.

Lucy Casson (Casting Director) Lucy Casson is a Casting Director from Yorkshire. She was a professional dancer for many years before her move into casting. Colm O’Regan (Music Supervisor) is currently the Musical Director for the West End production of The Book of Mormon, before which he conducted the show’s first UK/International Tour. Colm holds an MA in Music Performance and a BMus from the MTU Cork School of Music and studied piano and conducting at Conservatorio Giuseppe Tartini, Trieste. Colm has featured as guest conductor with the RTE Concert Orchestra and at the Cork Opera House Proms and other MD credits include Shrek the Musical (UK Tour); Wicked (International Tour, AMD); Starlight Express (Bochum); The Mikado (National Concert Hall, Ireland); the London premiere of The m(Other) Life (Wyndham’s Theatre); The Goddess is Watching (The Other Palace) and Celtic Tenors (Canada Tour). As an arranger, Colm has worked in the US on Broadway Rocks (State Theatre, NJ) and The Buckhill Skytop Music Festival, among other productions throughout the UK and Ireland.

Aida Rocci (Creative Producer & Dramaturg) is a Spanish-Italian director and dramaturg based in London and working internationally. Aida has worked as a dramaturg for theatre and opera across continents for artists such as Eve Ensler, Daniel Kramer, and Diane Paulus. As a director, her work has been compared to that of Eduardo de Filippo. Aida has experience in cabaret, translated work, multi-media devising, film, and new writing. She was a Creative Associate at Jermyn Street Theatre in 2024, where she translated and directed the English premiere of Two Rounds by Academy Award-nominee Cristina Comencini. In 2025, she was the Creative Producer for the sold out run of CLUB NVRLND at the Edinburgh Fringe. She holds an MFA in Dramaturgy and Theatre Studies from the American Repertory Theatre/Moscow Art Theatre Institute for Advanced Theatre Training at Harvard University and an MA (with Distinction) in Advanced Theatre Making from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama.
